Kapillaren sind die Verbindung zwischen den kleinsten Arterien (Arteriolen) und den kleinsten Venen (Venolen) und stellen den Übergang zwischen dem arteriellen und dem venösen System dar.

Beispiele und Vorkommen:

Bereiche wie Gehirn, Herz und Skelettmuskulatur sind reich an Kapillaren, da sie eine konstante Versorgung mit Sauerstoff und Nährstoffen benötigen.
